About Shujaa
Upon her arrival at the orphanage, Shujaa underwent a health assessment that revealed both eyes had a cloudy film covering them, indicating the possibility of full or partial blindness, a lame hind limb, and two bite wounds on her thigh. An x-ray further showed a fracture in her lame hind limb, demanding urgent surgical treatment.
She underwent successful orthopaedic surgery, with metal plates placed to mend the fractured bone, and recovered fully. She remains partially blind. She is able to manoeuvre around, but this would pose a challenge to her survival in the wild.
